🤔 Bad FORM by VEOLIA: delays in communication, making those overpaying the MOST pay even more!

When is someone from watercare or aucklandcouncil or Christopher Bishop going to fix things for the battered Papakura area??

Everyone once in a while I pick up a complaint or story given to me or SANZ.

This is one of EGREGIOUS bad form by Veolia on a developer trying to build small compact affordable homes in Papakura.

They pleaded with Veolia to issue their water connection invoice in late May, it was issued around 4 June with 5 days to pay $1,143,000.

It was a big number so they asked for an extension as they needed to get money from their funder and do a draw down process. They did it as fast as they could and advised VEOLIA of such.

They were 4 days late receiving the funds and due to the weekend and VEOLIA CANCELLING the invoice, they couldn’t pay it 🫨 .

Veolia stuck firm and issued a new invoice at a 15.5% increase.

Bad form, administrative unreasonableness.

I have more stories coming on the IGCs soon too… to me it looks like Watercare is forgetting about fair, proportionate and equitable… since when do small houses subsidise large homes with swimming pools?

It is easier for me to share my knowledge on Social Media rather than field a vast number of emails or calls… our network works!

For years I would plan houses, travel widely and observe communities. I also had the privilege of working for New Zealand's largest dairy company in both New Zealand and Malaysia. All the while supported by my husband and young daughter. After a while, our roles swapped and we moved to the Arabian Gulf. Meanwhile my passion for property and communities continued to simmer.

Along came COVID and had no choice but to pivot... in the words of Robert Frost, I looked for and "found the road less travelled by" and decided that maybe I could "make [a] the difference".

I look for to find insights and built a few of the houses that we need. This means a saleable house and a profitable and sustainable business.
