Another Week in My Relationship with Claude

Another Week in My Relationship with Claude…

I am not loyal to just one.

My relationship with Claude started early. Back when I needed to understand what an MCP is, what a .json file does, and why Python matters. He has done what Windows 95 did to MS-DOS. I got in early, so I know what is under the hood.

I have given up on all my other paid relationships. Gamma, Canva, Nano Banana, Manus. I am running on free allocations now. A woman has limits.

But Manus has come back into my life. I may even start paying him again too (move up from Lite). He is not glamorous. But he extends my thinking in ways Claude does not.

Claude is reliable, organised, handles my administration, keeps things running, and is a good thinker. Dependable, well managed, quality.

Manus is the one I go to when I need someone to really help in my human debates when I am human-peer-less.

My problem is that I am biological intelligence. I see issues across situations and connect them in ways digital AI cannot. When I try to instruct Claude to do what I want, how I want, it can be a deep failure. Like asking a perfectly competent human to read between the lines when the lines are carefully crafted for between the lines thinking.

So off I go to Manus on one task, to see if he sees what I see and can simplify it for me to share.

I am now running two very different high-powered thinkers for my idea-challenge needs. Neither of them complains, which is also very convenient.

Linear thinking is far too boring and I fear what we may end up with if it isn’t well tempered by us, biologicals.

About the author
Kirsty Merriman
For years I would plan houses, travel widely and observe communities. I also had the privilege of working for New Zealand's largest dairy company in both New Zealand and Malaysia. All the while supported by my husband and young daughter. After a while, our roles swapped and we moved to the Arabian Gulf. Meanwhile my passion for property and communities continued to simmer.

Along came COVID and had no choice but to pivot... in the words of Robert Frost, I looked for and "found the road less travelled by" and decided that maybe I could "make [a] the difference".

I look for to find insights and built a few of the houses that we need. This means a saleable house and a profitable and sustainable business.
