Information presented and discussed at Council meeting is misleading the elected members

💢 👀 Information presented and discussed at Council meeting is misleading the elected members 👀 💢

Listening to the YouTube recording of the 5 March 2025 meeting to justify the Tamaki $700 million investment:

Some Councillors seem to be operating off incorrect information and saying they want to make the decision and not to put it out to feedback

(1) says we are moving to impervious (say we are going to 90% impervious)

(2) claim that on-site attenuation is $2 billion (since when!!)… I have a request in to get this explained

(3) someone says only 1,000L detention is capable per house on the small sites… that is wrong, I do 2,000 L per house and am actually choosing to do $3,000L

Some seem to know what they are talking about

Council admits they are not checking compliance well enough: Yes get on with it… achieve community responsibility

THE COST OF ONSITE MITIGATION IS BEING MISREPRESENTED.

IMPERVIOUS v PERVIOUS is being MISREPRESENTED.

Kirsty Merriman
For years I would plan houses, travel widely and observe communities. I also had the privilege of working for New Zealand's largest dairy company in both New Zealand and Malaysia. All the while supported by my husband and young daughter. After a while, our roles swapped and we moved to the Arabian Gulf. Meanwhile my passion for property and communities continued to simmer.

Along came COVID and had no choice but to pivot... in the words of Robert Frost, I looked for and "found the road less travelled by" and decided that maybe I could "make [a] the difference".

I look for to find insights and built a few of the houses that we need. This means a saleable house and a profitable and sustainable business.
