A year ago, I was hitting a wall. Plenty of market opportunities and risks needing checking-out were around me but I simply couldn’t explore them.

Each issue had its own rabbit hole that got more interesting with each turn.

Hiring someone wouldn’t solve my problem – what I really needed was support with the thinking, analyzing, and distilling that’s at the heart of my curiosity.

Everything changed in August 2024 during my summer in the UK. Between projects, I’d watch videos, trying different approaches to streamline my workload. That’s when Claude entered my professional life, and I haven’t looked back.

I was wrestling with a complicated earthworks project – different contractors, detailed invoices, and confusing cost allocations. Who was responsible for what? Where did all that spoil actually go?

By learning to give Claude the right context and ask for specific outputs, I transformed those headache-inducing invoices into clear insights – complete with models, visuals, and data ready for Excel (my trusty second-in-command after Claude).

In this partnership, I bring my expertise, critical thinking, and industry knowledge. Claude brings the computational power that not only executes my vision but often pushes my thinking in valuable new directions.

This partnership has completely transformed how I work:

• For research, I use Perplexity with targeted prompting to get insights that old-school literature searches can’t touch
• When I need strategic thinking, Claude helps refine my approach and offers fresh perspectives – much more productive than most brainstorming meetings!
• Canva helps me pull together the odd visual while Gamma turns my content into polished presentations
• Notebook LM distills complex reports into concise briefings and well-structured conversations

✅ Beyond Basic Number-Crunching

The data transformation has had a big and timesaving impact on me. While Excel remains central to my work, Claude enhances what I can do by pre-processing complex information and helps me develop custom code for specialised workbooks, whether for feasibilities or management or power queries to feed into a dashboard.
